A lesson learned on a park bench

NORTHERN Grampians Shire chief executive Brent McAlister still remembers the smell of the park bench. More than 40 years ago, as he was beginning university, he spent a night on a park bench above a sewer pump station. “That was my first foray into homelessness,” he said.
