MICK Menzies and the team at Bakers Delight are baking up 10,000 hot cross buns this Easter.

Every Easter, Mick bakes three times a day, twice in the morning and once in the afternoon, to ensure that locals can enjoy fresh-baked hot cross buns all throughout the Easter period.

Bun-lovers can choose from three flavours – traditional, chocolate, and apple and cinnamon.

Of the 10,000 buns baked this year, Mick said that they sell most of them, if not all.

“The kids love them,” Mick said, with the apple and cinnamon being a particular favourite, a flavour which came out around three years ago.

Each Easter, he delivers hot cross buns to our local nursing home and retirement village. “It’s an enjoyable day to do that,” Mick said of these deliveries.

Mick and his wife Cassie have had their bakery for five years now.

“It’s going really well,” Mick said.

Mick’s parents Mick and Elaine run Bakers Delight in Colac, and his sister Ebony and her partner Brett have just taken over Bakers Delight in Hamilton.

Pop into Bakers Delight at the Woolworths shopping complex on Ingor Street to grab some sweet Easter treats or call the shop on (o3) 5352 5696.
