Beaufort Red fights hard in loss
Due to a split round, only one Beaufort team was in action in the Maryborough & District Cricket Association, with Red losing to Maryborough by 78 runs at Jubilee Oval in the A-Reserve competition.

After losing the toss and fielding, Beaufort struggled to take wickets with Maryborough’s top order dominating with Ben Robertson, 59 runs, Lachlan Bursill, 48, and Kristopher Bagley with an unbeaten 56 all seeing the ball well. They finished at 6/196 off their 40 overs.
Ben Grant again did well with the ball, taking 2/28 (8), while Harrison Grant also picked up two wickets, finishing with 2/35 (7).
Blake Jantzen and Thomas Grant started the run chase off well for Beaufort, but when Jantzen fell for 23, caught by Jaxon Carmody off the bowling of Sam Ross, the rest of the batters struggled.
Thomas Grant was the star of the innings for Beaufort, finishing with an unbeaten 43 as they were bowled out for 118 after 31 overs.
This weekend, Beaufort Blue travels to take on Clunes, while in A-Grade, the Bulls are at home and will aim to take their third win of the season against the winless Clunes.
