Beaufort set to shine for third annual ‘Beaufort by Twilight’
BEAUFORT is gearing up for its third annual Beaufort by Twilight, set to illuminate the township on Friday, 5 December, from 5pm to 8pm. For one night only, the town will transform into a vibrant twilight wonderland, with the popular Beaufort Twilight Market once again taking centre stage.
Community Engagement Officer at Pyrenees Community House Virginie Woolidge said this year’s event is shaping up to be a grand spectacle.
“We’re having the market as usual, we are looking at about 40 stalls, so pretty big. We have some really great market stalls with great gift ideas.”
Roving entertainers will add to the atmosphere as the festivities spread across town.
Fellow organiser Malcolm Sanders said the event is designed to draw people through all corners of Beaufort.
“It’s about activating the whole town,” he said.
“So we are doing the market down at one end and some stuff down at the Flywheel and the Vegemite Museum.”
In addition, the Pyrenees Art group is set to take over the space near the Beaufort Garage with a range of activities.
Mr Sanders said the event also marks the unofficial launch of the local festive season.
“The intention is to launch Christmas in Beaufort,” he said.
“The start of the Christmas season, encourage people to start thinking about shopping for Christmas.”
He said the focus on local shopping remains a key part of the night.
“It’s become a really great tradition for the community, everyone’s looking forward to it,” Mr Sanders said.
Visitors can expect carols, late-night trading, food trucks, kids’ activities and live music throughout the evening.
Whether it’s date night, a catch-up with friends or simply an excuse to get out and about, organisers say Beaufort by Twilight is the perfect chance to see the town and get those Christmas presents sorted.
