There will be three types of entries on the day. Individual, group, and school.

Cash prizes will be given out, as well as a sash from first to third place.

The scarecrows will be judged on the day by the volunteers from Stawell Community Gardens.

Organiser Emma Bourke said there has been a lot of interest, particularly from the local schools.

“There has been a fair bit of interest, with a few people enquiring about individual entries,” she said.

“We had quite a bit of interest from schools, and a few of the disability places as well, which is great to see.”

After the show, people can either take their scarecrows home or they can go to the community garden where they will be displayed for everyone to see.

The organisers can supply you with a pre-built frame, or you can design your own. Construction must be sturdy and self-supporting.

Scarecrows must be delivered to the Stawell Show Ground at 79 Patrick Street between 9 am to 4 pm on Thursday, October 23.

Scarecrows can be collected after 4 pm on Saturday, October 25, or on Sunday, October 26.
