At the end of day one, they are 3/114 with Mac McMahon and Jesse Eckel unbeaten on 17 and 7, respectively, after bowling St Marys out for 79.

Ethan Marrow and Aiden Graveson got the Combine off to a great start, scoring 41 and 30, respectively.

Earlier in the day, Zachary Marrow was the star with the ball, taking 4/13 (4.4). Jayden McCartney also bowled well with 3/12 (10), which included six maidens, and Sam Wells finished with 2/19 (11).

They will look to score quick runs tomorrow before declaring to give themselves enough time to bowl St Marys out.

The B-Grade side is on track for first innings points, finishing day one at 4/76 after bowling Donald Jeffcott out for 105.

Unbeaten at the crease are Craig Marrow on four and Leon Moloney on three after Rick Oliver made 50 opening the batting.

Bradley Carter did the damage with the ball for the Combine, taking 3/29 off nine overs. Emmanuel Kuriayan Joseph continued his good form with 2/37 (11).

While an outright victory will be tough, gaining first innings points will be very valuable when the match resumes at North Park on Saturday.
