Community grants approved
ARARAT Rural City Council has approved nine recipients in its latest round of Community Support Grants.

The program supports local sporting clubs, community groups, and organisations by providing grants of up to $5,000 on a two- for-one basis for community-led initiatives that boost engagement in sports, recreation, cultural events, arts accessibility, and sustainability.
Council has awarded a total of $28,410 in Community Support Grants to nine local organisations in the latest round, funding several key projects and initiatives, including:
- Ararat Neighbourhood house for a Punjabi Indian Community Annual Festival.
- Ararat Show Society Inc for installation of 15-amp power points and Sensor Light at the Ararat Showgrounds.
- Australian Plant Society Grampians Group for the Pomonal Native Flower Show.
- Chalambar Golf Club for a native tree and shrub planting project.
- Lake Bolac Eel Festival for the staging of the 2026 festival.
- Moyston Progress Association to place signage around the Moyston Recreation Reserve.
- Moyston Public Parks Committee of Management to replace indoor chairs.
- Ararat Scout Group to purchase new camping equipment.
- Willaura and District Community Development Group to upgrade the Lions Club Playground.
“We’re really proud to support our local clubs, community groups, and organisations with funding to enable them to deliver important projects and initiatives such as these,” said
Ararat Rural City Deputy Mayor, Cr Bob Sanders.
“We’re committed to continuing this support, and our 2025/26 Budget demonstrates this with a further $100,000 investment in this initiative.
“If your local group or organisation is considering applying, now’s the time to start planning your application so that you’ll be ready to submit as soon as the next round of grants is announced,” Cr Sanders said.
