Community road safety event approved for Moyston
MOYSTON Primary School is receiving help to deliver an important road safety initiative for its students. Minister for Roads and Road Safety Melissa Horne announced Moyston Primary School is among the successful recipients sharing in almost $2 million funding through two road safety programs – the Community Road Safety Grants and the 2025 TAC Road Safety Grant Program.

The Community Road Safety Grants offer a share in $1.5 million for local communities across the state to deliver targeted road safety education initiatives across Melbourne and regional Victoria with a particular focus on vulnerable road users – including pedestrians, cyclists, children, older people and roadside workers.
More than $363,000 from the TAC will deliver projects that improve local community road safety outcomes, including professionally fitted car seats to families experiencing disadvantage, while another will support the development of inclusive road safety resources for children with disabilities, families and therapists.
Moyston Primary School advised the Ararat Advocate it will use its grant to develop a bike education program for its students.
Minister Horne said the funding was an important initiative in the fight to save lives.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility, and we all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Whether you’re walking, riding, an experienced driver or starting out – we can all work together to stay safe on our roads.”
“These important grants deliver life-saving messages right across our state, giving schools and community groups the chance to create local solutions to local road safety concerns,” she said.
