Easter Extravaganza just around the corner

PLANNING is underway at Stawell Biz for the 2025 Easter Saturday Main Street Extravaganza, and organisers are keen to make it a roaring success.
Llewelyn Clark, president at Stawell Bizz, said the whole weekend is full of things to do.
The Great Western Rodeo is on Good Friday, the Main Street Extravaganza takes place on Saturday, the Sunday races follow, and the Stawell Gift finals are held on Easter Monday.
“It's a weekend that's chock-a-block with events and activities,” said Mr Clark.
“Our event is really aimed as a family event, and so we want to be able to support all ages, and encourage local businesses to be able to come on board and use the opportunity of the influx of tourists to be able to generate some great business as well for themselves.”
During the extravaganza, Stawell’s Main Street will be blocked off from Layzell Street to St Georges Street.
There will be several street performers, including a roving, stilt walking magician and well as a hula hoop artist and circus performer.
Stawell Gold Mines will have an interactive display of some of their equipment, and the CFA and SES will also run displays.
Mr Clark also said the event will have a giant sand pit for kids to play in, and Stawell Taekwondo will have a display.
The Forsaken Society will have a display, Main Street will be lined by artisan stalls, and the Stawell Brass Band and Stawell Performing Arts Council will both perform.
“I love the event,” said Mr Clark.
“I’m very community minded, [it’s good] to see the buzz that the local community gets out of it.”
