The Combine is in a battle with Donald Jeffcott for the fourth and final spot in the finals, and after day one of their two-day match against the Horsham Tigers, they are 4/111 at stumps, chasing 151 for first innings points.

The Combine bowled first, and a strong spell from Ethan Marrow helped them bowl the Horsham Tigers out for 150 in 55 overs.

Marrow took 4/14 from his seven overs, and with help from Zachary Marrow (2/42), Jayden McCartney (2/14), and Matt Heffer (2/17), ensured they were in with a chance to secure an outright victory.

A blistering innings from Jacob Dunn, scoring 52 off 42 deliveries, and Zachary Marrow, scoring 41 off 25, has put the Combine in a great position to secure first innings points.

Donald Jeffcott is currently at 0/18, chasing first innings points against BrimKSH, who they bowled out for 156.

With rain forecast tomorrow, the Combine has two ways it can make finals. The first is to get first innings points, and hope rain washes the other games out or BrimKSH bowls Donald Jeffcott out, preventing Donald Jeffcott from gaining first innings points.

The second is to win outright, as it’s unlikely Donald Jeffcott will secure an outright victory.

Should there be no cricket, Donald Jeffcott will make the finals.

B-Grade sitting top of the ladder are in a comfortable position heading into day two against West Wimmera at Davis Park, Nhill.

Batting first, the Combine declared at 3/213 after 53 overs with Ryder Sullivan and Stewart MacPherson the stars, scoring an unbeaten 61 and 51, respectively. Matthew Delzotto chipped in with a handy 35, and Rick Oliver scored 23.

At stumps, they have West Wimmera 2/16 with Matthew Dean claiming both wickets.

The C-Grade will face Halls Gap tomorrow to see who finishes top of the ladder following its 30-run loss to Laharum at Great Western Recreation Reserve.

The Combine bowled Laharum out for 123 with Nicholas McCartney (2/12), Aaron Greenough (2/7), and Tom Robinson (2/16) best with the ball.

In reply, they were bowled out for 93 after 25 overs with Alexander Bonner top scoring with 50 runs off 55 balls.
