“Great spot, clean and open, short walk to good amenities. Good cafes, recommend it” “One of our favourite camps. Expansive, quiet and just a couple of hundred metres from the main street”

“Stayed 2 nights, nice spot, nice little town, plenty of space midweek”

“This would be one of the best camps we have stayed at, plenty of level space for big vans, Nice little town with a couple of pubs, cafes and bakeries, a great place to base yourself for the surrounding area. Water is available on the other side of the bridge”

Beaufort Free Camp – 4.1 stars.

Comments included;

“Good spot, flat gravel sites, nice and quiet”

“Good overnighter, no amenities on site, nice quiet and flat, for a free RV park can’t complain”

“Lovely town but the RV area was a bare earthen space which could get muddy if it rained. We decided not to stay!”

“Great spot lovely shops and a dump point not far away, thank you Beaufort”

“It’s on ok spot on gravel. It’s also pretty basic and a token effort in my honest review.

If the town wants to be truly RV friendly (like many progressive towns are becoming) it needs to invest a little more than just a gravel area to pull into. Toilets would be a nice start, afterall, the town benefits a hundred times over by money spent in town by travellers, As it stands now, I’d recommend a truck stop along the freeway to this”

Mount Cole campgrounds – 4.2 stars.

Comments included;

“Camped Anzac long weekend. Not crowded and heaps of room for more groups. Plenty of firepits, sites all clean, new drop toilets, water tank water very dirty not suitable for cooking etc.”

“Great hiking place, many campgrounds are tents only, but some are suitable for caravans.”

Mount Buangor Campground – 3.8 stars

Comments included;

“Surrounded by nature, quiet hidden gem. Adequate drop toilets and well marked tracks and interesting walks”

“Lovely camp, nice and open, with lots of flat space. Fire pits and ample toilets. Nearby fern tree falls are beautiful. Great stop”

Pyrenees State Forest 3.7 stars

“Nice spot easy access with phone reception sites are a bit on the pass, need chocks, no water in the creek but it is mid summer”

“Stayed 5 nights over Aust Day 2024. Nice quiet campsite, some traffic from bushwalkers. Decent drop toilets but BYO paper”

“Pleasant small camping area at foot of range. Would be very congested if more than 4 or 5 camper vehicles. Don’t expect to see any water coming over rocks of nearby waterfalls except after rainfall in catchment.
