Outgoing president Jane Kibble formally passed the role to incoming president Janet Witham, who is returning to the position after previously serving as club president in 2014.

Mrs Witham welcomed the club’s new committee and said members were looking forward to a busy and enjoyable year ahead.

The year carries extra significance for Probus clubs across Australia and New Zealand, with 2026 marking the 50th anniversary of the Probus movement in the region.

Founded in Australia in 1976, the organisation promotes friendship, fellowship and active social connections among retirees and semi-retirees through local clubs and activities.

Mrs Witham said the milestone would be celebrated throughout the year with a range of activities and events involving Probus clubs around the country.
