Grampians Junior Cricket Association Roundup
Round eleven of the Grampians Junior Cricket Association saw Tatyoon Gold, Swifts/Great Western’s under-13 teams, and Swifts/Great Western and Tatyoon’s under-16 teams taste victory.

On Friday, Tatyoon Gold defeated Tatyoon Maroon by five wickets at Tatyoon Recreation Reserve.
Joel McKay led the way with the ball for Gold, claiming two wickets for six runs off two overs as they restricted Maroon to 4/67, while he also top-scored with 13 alongside Tom King as they finished on 5/91.
Rowly Tucker was the star for Maroon with the bat, scoring 19 runs, while Lachlan Blandford led the way with the ball, taking two wickets for three runs in three overs.
Swifts/Great Western enjoyed a four-wicket win over Pomonal at Moyston Recreation Reserve.
Pomonal batted first and scored 9/96, with James Roberts top-scoring with 24. Luke Fulton, Lenny Field, Henry Carter, Jesse Gorman, Raife Jamieson and Rylan Hendy all took wickets, with Jamieson the pick of the bowlers with 1/2 (2).
Swifts/Great Western finished on 6/103 with Jack Duxson top scoring with 18. Walter Brewis (2/7) and Wilem Lovett (2/5) led the way with the ball for Pomonal.
Today, Tatyoon Maroon plays Pomonal at Tatyoon Recreation Reserve, and Buangor hosts Tatyoon Gold at Buangor Recreation Reserve.
On Sunday, Swifts/Great Western Blue easily accounted for Pomonal at North Park. Batting first, Pomonal scored 9/81 with openers Wilhelm Mellors and Ned Jackson leading the way with 27 and 24, respectively.
Lewis Nicholson had a day out for Swifts/Great Western, taking three wickets for eight runs in three overs, while Ryder Sullivan claimed two wickets for 19 runs.
Sullivan then led the way with the bat, retiring 42 as Swifts/Great Western chased the total down in the 16th over, finishing on 1/85. Arlee Seehusen was unbeaten on 17, while Archie Ross scored 15 runs.
Lucas Wolter was Pomonal’s wicket-taker, finishing with 1/5 (1).
At Tatyoon Recreation Reserve, Tatyoon defeated Swifts/Great Western Red by 50 runs. Batting first, Tatyoon scored 4/146 with Edward Astbury retiring not out on 41. Joining him, retiring not out, was Rowly Rucker, who scored 40, while Tom King scored an unbeaten 21.
Eden Croft, Bill Lasslett and Luke Fulton were the wicket-takers for Swifts/Great Western, with Lasslett the pick of the bowlers, claiming 1/9 (3).
In reply, Swifts/Great Western were bowled out for 96 in the 22nd over with Alexander SImpkin and Liam Nicholson leading the way with 24 and 21 runs, respectively.
Jimmy McDougall was the pick of Tatyoon’s bowlers, finishing with figures of 2/2 (2).
Round 12 on Sunday sees Pomonal battle Tatyoon at Moyston Recreation Reserve, while Swifts Great Western’s Red and Blue teams will face off at North Park.
The Grand Final the following week is already decided with Tatyoon and Swifts/Great Western Blue set to face off.
