Green holds off Black in mixed netball grand final
Wednesday night at the Beaufort Secondary College gymnasium, the Beaufort Netball Association held their mixed competition grand final with Green defeating Black by two points, 17-15.
Green and Black were the last two teams standing from six in the competition, and the battle was fierce early, with scores tied 5-5 at quarter-time.
Green dominated the second quarter, scoring eight points to take a 13-8 lead into half-time. Black scored the only points in the third quarter to leg the margin back to two at the final break.
Green got out to an early five-goal advantage in the last, but Black didn’t give up, fighting to the end, scoring the last three goals of the game.
Nicolas Nadile and Tom Grant were awarded the best-on-court MVPs.
A large crowd was in attendance, and the competition was well-supported, with families, siblings, and partners all playing together.
Following the success of this term’s competition, the Association is hopeful that more will join next term. If you are interested in playing a fun, mixed netball competition, contact the Beaufort Netball Association.
