Historic stables reimagined at Mount William Station
MOUNT William Station at Willaura has enjoyed a stellar year, capping off last year’s win in the Victorian Tourism Awards with a national title as well. Adding to their success is the recent refurbishment and extension of the historic bluestone stables.

After receiving state government funding, owner Will Abbott and his team were able to dramatically transform the historic stables into a series of impressive function venues that can host over one hundred and fifty guests.
The former tac room is now an intimate dining area, and another section of the stables can host groups for events ranging from large weddings to business conferences.
The former feed room has been converted into a bar, and the cobblestone courtyard provides an expansive outdoor space for guests to enjoy.
Speaking at the launch, Will Abbott acknowledged the assistance of the Victorian Government, and also paid tribute to his family and staff who had provided he and his partner Nadia with so much support.
Grampians Wimmera Mallee Tourism chief executive, Mark Sleeman, congratulated Will and his team on ‘raising the bar’ and lifting the region’s luxury accommodation profile.
He said premium venues like Mount William Station were needed because they would help extend the length of stay for visitors and create new markets in the beautiful Grampians region.
