Jim Leithhead to open Lincoln car collection for FightMND
JIM and Karen Leithhead from Pomonal are opening the doors to their world-class collection of rare Lincoln cars and memorabilia to raise funds for FightMND and Daniher’s drive on Sunday, September 21.

The showroom is usually open on Good Friday, where proceeds are donated to the Good Friday Appeal, but this is a special cause to Karen Leithhead’s heart, as well as Jodie Scantleton, who is helping to raise funds with her husband, Tony.
Ms Leithhead’s father died of MND, and Ms Scantelton’s mother also passed away from the insidious disease.
Daniher’s drive runs from the 9th of October to the 12th, where the Leithhead’s and Scantelton’s will be driving through regional Victoria with over 200 people, raising vital funds and awareness for MND research.
The Leithhead’s will be driving ‘Large Marge’, the largest production car ever built, and it will be on display with 35 other cars that the Leithhead’s have at their Pomonal property.
Jim Leithhead has been collecting cars most of his life.
His uncle had a Lincoln when Jim was a child and that’s where his love for them came about.
The oldest car in the collection is from 1922, and the latest car is from 1997, and there is a good selection of everything in between.
Jim Leithhead said that he hopes there will be a lot of interest and encourages people to bring along their classic cars as well.
“This year we had about 2,000 people come through the door on Good Friday, so it’s hard to gauge how many we will get,” he said.
“A lot of people didn’t come because of a rodeo and football happening on the same day, so we hope that people who missed it will come and have a look.
“I would like to encourage anyone who comes along who may have classic cars to bring them as well, as it’s open to anyone.”
The showroom is located at 286 Tunnel Road, Pomonal. Doors will be open from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday, September 21, with an entry fee of $25, with cash the only payment accepted. Children under 16 are free.
