Just two hours left to vote for Avoca
PEOPLE have until 5pm today to vote for Avoca to be crowned Victoria’s Top Tiny Tourism Town. Avoca has been announced as a finalist in the 2026 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards in the Tiny Tourism Town category.
But Avoca faces some stiff competition from other popular small tourism towns including Dunkeld, Glenrowan, Marlo, Ouyen, Port Campbell, Portsea and Whitfield.
Voting closes at 5pm today and local residents are urged to make their vote count.
The Top Tourism Town Awards celebrate the incredible towns and communities that make regional Victoria such a sought-after destination, recognising places that deliver outstanding visitor experiences, strong community collaboration and a genuine commitment to tourism.
Avoca Ward councillor Rebecca Wardlaw says being a finalist is a fantastic recognition of everything that makes Avoca so special.
“This achievement belongs to the entire community — from local businesses and tourism operators to volunteers, residents and supporters who help create memorable experiences for visitors every day,” Cr Wardlaw says.
Competing in the Tiny Tourism Town category for towns with populations under 1,500, Avoca is proudly flying the flag for the region — and the community is being called on to help secure the win.
Public voting plays an important role in determining the winner, contributing valuable points toward the result so the community is now encouraged to get behind the campaign and vote for Avoca.
Whether you’re a local resident, regular visitor, former local or someone who simply loves discovering regional Victoria, your vote can help put Avoca on the map as Victoria’s Top Tiny Tourism Town.
“If awarded the title, the recognition would provide a significant boost not only for Avoca, but for the wider region and surrounding villages, helping attract new visitors, support local businesses and strengthen the local economy,” Cr Wardlaw said.
