Le Poidevin leads Rhymney/Moyston to victory
A half-century to Grant Le Poidevin has led Rhymney/Moyston to a two-wicket victory against Quantong at Quantong Recreation Reserve in round nine of the Horsham Cricket Association C-Grade season.
After losing the toss and bowling, the Quantong batters, led by Scott Ezard, 42 runs, and Peter Brand, 43, helped lead them to a competitive total of 6/166 off their 40 overs.
Daniel Taylor was the pick of the bowlers with 2/17 (6), while Solon Riddell also took two wickets, finishing with figures of 2/23 (6).
The run chase started well for Rhymney/Moyston with Trevor Quick and Daniel Taylor putting up a 50-run opening stand, before both were dismissed quickly for 14 and 35, respectively, to fall to 2/63.
Nathan Quick fell shortly after for one, and at 3/76, Solmon Riddell and Grant Le Poidevin came to the crease and rebuilt the innings. They were able to add 53 runs before Riddell fell for 27.
With Rhymney/Moyston set up for victory, Le Poidevin retired on 50, and with the help of an unbeaten 18 from Clinton Slorach, they chased the total down with four balls remaining, finishing at 8/167.
Saturday, they travel to Halls Gap to face the Kookaburras.
