Music and coffee for a good cause
STAWELL residents gathered at the Town Hall Hotel Lounge Bar recently for an afternoon of live music, coffee and community support for brain cancer research.

The event was the first of two local Baking for Brain Cancer fundraisers this week, with $1 from every coffee sold going towards brain cancer research through Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer and The Brain Cancer Centre.
Ararat-based musician Chris Meek provided solo acoustic music throughout the afternoon, creating a relaxed atmosphere as patrons caught up over coffee, cake and conversation.
Town Hall Hotel Lounge Bar owner Beth Gibson jumped at the opportunity to support the fundraising effort after local business identity Chris Waack helped bring the national campaign to Stawell through his friendship with Phil Dalton, of Phil’s Pies and Pastries in Berwick.
The campaign was started by the Dalton family after Tonie Dalton was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2024.
