Netballers conclude positive 2025
Despite two grades losing in the semi-finals last weekend, the Navarre Grasshoppers netballers can be proud of their positive season in all grades, with 2025 providing a great launching pad for 2026.
The 17-and-under netballers lost their semi-final by two goals on Sunday against Natte Bealiba Swans.
They were in the thick of it all match, and when the Swans drew away, the Grasshoppers found a way to rally back,1 but in the end, the Swans won 39-37.
Romy Moloney was sensational in attack, scoring 23 goals with a shooting percentage of 76.67%, and nailed some clutch goals late in the game.
Alice Nellthorp was also solid with 14 goals at 70%. Josie Greenaway and Saieh Summerfield were outstanding in the midcourt, while Matilda Polkinghorne was excellent in defence.
The C-Grade netballers fought bravely in their 23-37 loss to Avoca. Ella Cassidy was outstanding scoring 16 goals at 94.12%, while Casey Medlyn scored seven at 63.64%.
Mem McSparron and Brittany Baird also played well.
The losses mark the end of a positive season for the netballers. The A-Grade, B-Grade and 13-and-under all made finals.
