Optus tower takes shape
ARARAT’S new Optus mobile tower has appeared on the town’s skyline in recent weeks marking the start of improved services for local customers.
The project forms part of the Connecting Victoria initiative, which is designed to fast-track improvements in mobile and broadband connectivity across the state.
The tower currently underway near Caledonian Court is one of two sites planned to boost coverage in Ararat, with a second site at Green Hill Lake set to be underway in the coming months.
Both Green Hill Lake and Aradale towers are expected to be completed by next year.
An Optus spokesperson said the towers will boost local coverage.
“Optus is committed to improving mobile network coverage across regional areas of Australia. We will be delivering additional coverage and capacity to the Ararat area with two sites under construction in collaboration with the Connecting Victoria program. Customers will benefit from both sites using Optus 4G and 5G networks,” the spokesperson said.
