The Willaura Police Station was damaged in May last year and will hopefully be fully repaired by spring.

No one was injured in the collision, but extensive damage was done to the front of the building when the accident occurred in the yearly hours of the morning.

The damage is yet to be repaired, and Willaura’s Senior Constable Neil Bradford explained to The Advocate that a few complications had held up its completion.

He said the matter had to be worked through with the driver’s insurance company to establish liability, gain quotes and source builders.

All that took time, but he said, “everyone’s doing what they can”.

A builder has now been appointed, and work is expected work to begin within the next month.

“It will be good when the front of the station is able to be used again. People who wish to see me have been going to the back door, but you like to know who’s coming,” Senior Constable Bradford said.

He said hopefully by spring, the veranda, walls and front fence will be fully repaired, and Willaura’s Police Station will be operating normally again.
