The Bulldogs had the Saints on the ropes early but were unable to capitalise on their forward fifty entries, with the Saints defence standing tall through.

The Saints were able to move the ball forward and when forward, capitalised on their opportunities, kicking three goals to lead by 18 points at quarter-time.

It was much the same in the second half with the Bulldogs having their chances but being unable to capitalise as the Saints kicked another three goals to lead by 34 points at half-time.

The Bulldogs fought back in the third quarter as they kept the lead at 34 points at the last break.

Dean Henderson was best on the ground with Michael Richardson, Michael Barnett, Jayson Porter, Thomas Sarah and Jacob Hart all among the best players for the Saints.
