Secure your number plate

AS past of this weekend’s Lions Club District 210 V2 convention in Stawell, local residents are being offered the chance to swap the screws on their car number plates over to anti-theft screws free-of-charge. Hundreds of Lions Club members from across Victoria have converged on Stawell for the weekend, with a number of community service activities planned, including the anti-theft screw project. “Safety Screws is where we partner with the Victorian Police to change the easily removed number plate screws for theft resistant screws,” said Lions member Colin Anderson. “This simple project reduces criminals from stealing cars, petrol theft from the local fuel station.” Stawell residents can take advantage of the free service from 3.15pm today in the Scallan Street carpark.
