Stawell Golf continues dominance
Stawell Golf are undefeated after eight rounds in the Grampians Playing Area Lawn Bowls Division One pennant season following a hard-fought 71-56 win over Lake Bolac and District last Saturday.
Stawell Golf won two rinks on the day, while losing the other by a single shot, 17-18.
Greg Reading’s rink, featuring Andrew Reading, Ashley Howard, and Peter Greenberger, won 34-20, while Bryan Adamson’s rink, featuring Peter Walker, David Kaczynski, and John Griffiths, won 20-18.
In Division Two, Stawell Golf won 81-60, also winning two rinks on the day.
Stawell, meanwhile, had a massive 100-40 win over Landsborough and District, winning all three rinks.
Andrew Cray’s rink, featuring Angela Hodgetts, Wayne Watson, and Neil Coates, enjoyed the biggest win of the day, 35-9.
Andrew Sharp also led his rink to a strong victory. Featuring Amy Hodgetts, Louis Martin, and Ivan McDonald, they won 31-12.
Robert Maconachie also skippered his rink to a great win. Featuring Bob McGregor, Glenda Cameron, and Robert Nicholson, they won 34-19.
In Division Two, Stawell lost to Aradale Blue, 66-74, while winning one rink on the day.
Saturday, both Stawell teams will travel to Ararat. Stawell takes on Ararat, and Stawell Golf faces Ararat VRI.
