Successful fish n chip luncheon at Willaura
The many volunteers involved with the 2025 Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal at Willaura were pleased with yet another successful luncheon and games afternoon.

THE many volunteers involved with the 2025 Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal at Willaura were pleased with yet another successful luncheon and games afternoon.
The small community has supported the Good Friday Appeal for close to fifty years, and the tradition continues strongly today.
This year approximately $15,000 was raised for the hospital.
The morning started early for the volunteers who set up equipment and prepared for a busy few hours.
At the luncheon, over two hundred and sixty meals were served, and the freshly cooked fish and chips were appreciated by the large crowd.
Activities such as face painting, colouring in and mini sports delighted the children, as did the arrival of the Easter Bunny.
The firewood auction was keenly contested, and with cooler nights approaching there was spirited bidding for each of the four loads.
The accommodation package at Redgum Cottage, Mt William Station, was snapped up, as were the half dozen Willaura Bakery vanilla slices.
Organisers thanked all involved for their willingness to come together to support the fish and chip luncheon, and the numerous community members who helped make it all happen.
