Summer show brings out the blooms
STAWELL Orchid Society’s highly anticipated Summer Show was a huge success last weekend, transforming the Senior Citizens Rooms into a sea of colour. The Summer Show is the second exhibition staged by the society in recent months. It brought together hundreds of vibrant orchids grown by society members. Society Secretary Warren Nightingale said it was a last chance for people to show off their orchids before the flowers drop. “It’s the last show of the year, before virtually everyone loses all their flowers,” said Mr Nightingale. It’s the first time the society has presented a summer show in Stawell. Previously, the summer exhibition was held in Halls Gap.
