The road home leads through football
Former Ararat resident Damian Carmichael thought he was writing a book about ending a premiership drought. Instead, he found himself writing about home. Carmichael’s new book, Pushing the Rock, tells the story of Eastlake Football Club’s first premiership in 24 years, but writing it unexpectedly brought him back to the football grounds and communities that shaped his own life growing up in Ararat.
