Third person dies

A third person has died in hospital following a three-vehicle collision in Ledcourt last night. It's believed two cars and a truck collided on Western Highway, near Mount Drummond Road, about 6.45pm. Both yet-to-be formally identified occupants of one of the vehicles, an MG ZS, died at the scene. A 14-year-old female passenger of the Mitsubishi Triton was airlifted to hospital where she later died.

The 17-year-old male learner driver of a Mitsubishi and his 11-year-old female passenger were airlifted to hospital with minor injuries. The 43-year-old female passenger of the Mitsubishi was not injured.

The 29-year-old truck driver was also not injured.

Detectives will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
