Three local women recognised for transforming mental health

THREE local women committed to better mental health have been shortlisted for the 2026 Australian of the Year awards. Tatyoon’s Leila Sweeny-McDougall is one of four nominees for the prestigious title of 2026 Australian of the Year for Victoria. In addition, One Red Tree founders Carly McKinnis and Tammie Meehan, both from Ararat, are amongst the four finalists for the 2026 Local Hero for Victoria. The nominees for Victoria are among 134 people being recognised across all states and territories.
