Tipping for success
ARARAT footy tipper Kevin Bowles is on a hot streak, claiming victory in three football tipping competitions this season.
Kevin has come out on top in the Ararat Advocate, Ararat RSL, and Ararat College footy tipping competitions.
For more than 20 years, Kevin has relied on the same approach, and it’s paying off.
“I think this is the third win, and I’ve had a couple of seconds and thirds along the way,” he said.
“The last couple of weeks, I was a little bit nervous. But in the second last round, I managed to get myself two ahead, and so I was sort of confident at that stage because it was a matter of everybody having to catch me.”
But the season isn’t quite over yet.
“The one I’m waiting on now is the Delacombe ShowBiz, where I’m equal first, and the winner of that gets all of the cinema for the grand final on the big screen with 50 of your friends,” he said, with the winner to be announced at the preliminary final.
As for his tipping tactic, Kevin keeps it simple.
“Tip Brisbane Lions and pick the favourite at Wednesday lunchtime,” he revealed.
With three wins already in hand, Kevin jokes that his ego has “only gotten a little bigger”, but he’s still hopeful of a fourth win.
