Turbine blades blown off course in Ararat suburbia
Wind turbine blade obstructed traffic in Ararat during transport

Transporting two wind turbine blades through Ararat on Tuesday, February 18, created more public interest than usual when they became stuck in suburbia as drivers tried to navigate the intersection of Mcgibbony Street and Vincent Streets.
One truck remained stationary on Mcgibbony Street most of the day after unsuccessfully trying to make a right-angle turn onto Vincent Street.
During attempts to navigate the intersection, a street sign on the corner of Mcgibbony and Vincent Street was removed.
Later in the day, a tree was removed from Mcgibbony Street on the opposite side.
A second truck carrying a wind turbine blade was parked further along Mcgibbony Street, blocking several driveways.
It was photographed earlier in the day trying to navigate a turn, becoming entangled in trees and nearing power lines.
The incident attracted onlookers throughout the day and into the late afternoon. before the incident was cleared at about 5.30 pm.
The Mail-Times has contacted Vic Roads, the Ararat City Council and other Wind Farm but no response had been received at the time of publication.
Triple A Hi-Haul Transport said through a spokesperson that the load [ the wind turbine blade] was never near any power lines, and the load was on the correct route.
